: The Year Ahead in 2009 and a Humble Request!

This e-newsletter gives us the chance to keep in touch with our clients and business contacts and to wish you well in 2009. We have a humble request as well …. please read the last part of this e-newsletter!

According to most economic forecasts, the year ahead will be challenging. I am not going to offer any erudite commentary to the contrary, except to say that I am intuitively optimistic: things will get better.

Property remains the Cinderella of business strategy but during this credit crunch period it can play an even more significant role in helping to make a contribution to the bottom line for any business. That is why sound strategic property advice is essential.

Recent Successes:

These are some of our most recent successes over the last few months:

  • The opening of Ty Brackla, the flagship Veterinary Animal Hospital in Bridgend by the First Minister Rhodri Morgan – the best in Wales – where we had provided project management advice throughout a 5-year period including obtaining a valuable grant.
  • The acquisition of industrial premises in West Wales for Aim Aviation, an inward investment project from the South East of England.
  • The conclusion of long standing rent reviews on behalf of Vista, with consequent ‘savings’ and certainty.
  • The acquisition of new offices in the centre of Cardiff for Working Word PR.
  • The letting of office space at 8 Deryn Court , Pentwyn Business Centre.
  • The delivery of a feasibility study for Pontygwaith Regeneration Partnership – a community based initiative.

These are just a few examples where we have helped to make a tangible difference. If you think we can be of any assistance to you in helping to make a difference to your business or organisation, then do get in touch on 02920 553108.

New Instructions:

We are also pleased to announce recent new instructions where we are acting for a range of businesses:

  • Toast Limited, Swansea;
  • Service Control, Bridgend;
  • Intervention Services, Llanelli;
  • Concateno Plc, Cardiff;
  • Educ8, Ystrad Mynach;
  • Link to Life, Nantgarw.

On the property disposal front, we have been appointed to deal with 2 recent instructions:

  • The sale of 1.45 acres of land at Springvale Industrial Estate, Cwmbran.
  • The marketing of 14,000 sq ft of Grade A office space at Navigation Park offering superlative offices from approx. 250 sq ft upwards to 4,860 sq ft.

Details for both of these are located in the ‘Available Properties’ section of our web site.

Chapter Arts

As a Board member of Chapter Arts, I am delighted with the continued progress in the comprehensive refurbishment of the building complex. Despite the challenges of carrying out work whilst allowing parts to remain open, progress has been good. Please take a look at the ‘presentation’ in our Topical Issues section and anyone wishing to provide financial support to Chapter (http://www.chapter.org/12342.html) should contact Elaina Gray, Fundraising Officer at Chapter on 02920 355662.

Fundraising

On the subject of optimism, I am running in the Flora London Marathon on the 26th April 2009 for a very worthwhile charity – The St David’s Foundation Hospice Care charity. Every year, St. David's provides hospice care to over 2,600 people with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Most people feel most comfortable in their own homes, surrounded by things they know and people they love, so that's where they provide most of their care - in the home.

My target is to raise to £2,500. If you feel that you can support me, please visit my just giving web page by clicking on the following link: http://www.justgiving.com/robertchapman1
